"Shawn Urbanski will present an overview of the dataset 'Airborne and Lidar measurements of smoke plume rise, emissions, and dispersion.' The dataset consists of measurements of smoke emissions, plume rise, and dispersion for eight wildfires in the western United States and prescribed fires in California, Idaho, and North Carolina. The 11 wildland fires were investigated over 24 days between August 2009 and August 2011, allowing the research team to measure plume rise and smoke transport over a wide range of meteorological conditions, fire activity, fuels, and terrain."
