Presented By: PFX
The Pacific Fire Exchange Advisory Panel met for the third time with PFX coordinators at the Sherman Lab at the University of Hawaii, Manoa in Oahu. Two of the coordinators, Hawaii Wildfire Management Organization's Executive Director Elizabeth Pickett and UH Manoa's Extension Fire Specialist Clay Trauernicht began the meeting with a presentation on the PFX overview and the overall goals for the Advisory Panel.
The attendees represented a wide range of agencies including the University of Hawaii, USDA Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Hawaii Department of Fish and Wildlife, Hawaii Wildfire Management Organization, the Pacific Disaster Center, Colorado State University, Kamehameha Schools, US Army, and Guam.
At the end of the presentation, the members broke out into discussion groups to identify and prioritize "PFX Knowledge Themes" under the categories Basic Science and Applied Science/Management. The meeting was an overall success and created a solid foundation for creating PFX products.
